A quartet of DB locomotives pose in front of the half‑roundhouse at Neuss. Nearest the camera in steam is 050 Class 2‑10‑0 No. 051‑435. Also in the frame is the friendly shedmaster, a former POW in Herefordshire after World War Two, who acted as our guide around the depot.

One of the last surviving active 094 Class 0‑10‑0T’s No. 094‑730, seen here in superb external condition, poses for the camera in between shed pilot duties at Hamm. In excess of 1200 of these Prussian (T16 Class) locomotives were constructed in 1913‑1924.
