Mode of transport: Triumph 650cc Bonneville Motor Cycle belonging to John ‘Chuff’ Langstone a fireman at Tyseley MPD. I was the pillion passenger.

GWR 5100 Class 2‑6‑2T No. 4100 stands in the yard of its home shed at 85B Gloucester (Horton Road) on 1st August 1965. To the left of 4100 is condemned BR Class 3 2‑6‑2T No. 82039 taken out of service the previous month.

LMS Class 4F 0‑6‑0 No. 43924
LMS Class 4F 0‑6‑0 No. 43924 looks resplendent at Haworth, on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, in September 1975. This was the first locomotive to be ‘saved’ from Barry Docks, moving to the KWVR in September 1968. The author saw it at Barry three months earlier and at the time was puzzled as to why it had been separated from the others.

GWR Castle Class 4‑6‑0 No. 7001 Sir James Milne, of 84A Wolverhampton (Stafford Road), lays a smokescreen over Birmingham (Snow Hill) as it climbs up from Hockley with the empty coaching stock forming the 5.50pm Fridays Only express to Paddington from Snow Hill on 26th January 1963.

Birmingham (Snow Hill) is seen in all its glory on a sun‑filled 3rd July 1962 as GWR 5600 Class 0‑6‑2T No. 6667, a longstanding resident of 84F Stourbridge, trundles along on a through road with a lengthy pick‑up goods train from the Tyseley direction.
